A full bodied well rounded wine which has a complex nose of vanilla with spicy undertones. Reminiscent of ripe plums it is well balanced with fully intregrated oak flavours. | |
| MATURATION POTENTIAL | Can be enjoyed now but will mature for a further five years when appropriately stored. | |
| SUGGESTED FOOD | Serve with game and red meat dishes and pasta. We recommend that all red wines be decanted a few hours before serving. | |

Schalkenbosch Stratus is our first Wine to carry labeling that recognizes our Championship status by the Biodiversity in Wine Initiative, joining 14 other Estates in South Africa, such as Anglo American’s Vergelegen, Graham Beck, Backsberg, La Motte and Lourensford.
The BWI is a pioneering partnership between the South African wine industry and the conservation sector. The goals are to minimise the further loss of threatened natural habitat, and to contribute to sustainable wine production, through the adoption of biodiversity guidelines by the South African wine industry.
